Super Decathlon 2450mm (96.4") Wingspan from Black Horse - Balsa Wood ARF - BHM1006-001
The American Champion 8KCAB Decathlon and Super Decathlon are two-seat fixed conventional gear light airplanes designed for flight training and personal use and capable of sustaining aerobatic stresses between +6g and −5g.
The model is scaled to approximately 1/4 and attention was paid to a true to original appearance and best flight characteristics. The model can be operated using an electric power system.

- 6 Channel radio - select a minimum 6 channel radio from our Radio Collection
- 6 Channel receiver - select a minimum 6 channel receiver from our Receiver Collection
- 1100-1600 Watt brushless outrunner motor - we recommend the Admiral GP35 C6332-175Kv Brushless Motor
- 80-120 amp brushless ESC - we recommend either the Castle Creations Phoenix Edge High Voltage 80A ESC
- 5x 45g standard servos - we recommend 5 Hitec HS-645MG Ultra Torque Ball Bearing Metal Gear Standard Servos
- 8 Cell 29.6V 4000 - 5000mAh LiPo Battery - we recommend Admiral Pro 5000mAh 4S 14.8V 60C LiPo Battery with EC5 Connector Multi-Pack (2 Batteries)
- Series adapter - we recommend the BenchCraft EC5 2 to 1 Series Adapter
- Electric propeller - we recommend the APC 20x12 Thin Electric Propeller
- 6 Cell compatible battery charger - select a minimum 6 cell (6S) charger from our Charger Collection
(This setup above will achieve around a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio. If one desires to go with more or fly at higher altitudes, this same setup can be used with 10S LiPo for a 1.13:1 thrust to weight ratio.)

- NGH GT35 35cc Two-Stroke Engine or NGH GF38 38cc Four-Stroke Engine
- Propeller - APC 18x10 Gas Propeller or APC 19x8 Thin Electric Propeller
Black Horse ARF models are constructed out of balsa wood and plywood. These are not foam models. The assembly of balsa wood ARF aircraft requires basic model building skills including the installation of servos, ESC, and motor (or gas engine).
